Device did you use the white wire or the white wire w/ the blue tracer. By the way let me know when you want to get together for those couplers

mine was tapped off pin a wire on the ecu. look in at vfaq for the layout, youll see where the rpm signal wire is.

He uses seven-hundred, ten.

I put my cap on upside down once before telling my girlfriend at the time that I needed a new "710" cap and she actually asked the guy at Advance Auto Parts if they had any 710 caps.

The only requirement for that wire is a clean logic level tach type signal...

I'm going to use my ECU tac output not the CAS (since it will eventually be G O N E) and not the tac output at the ignitor (since ALS does funky stuff to that signal there)....

Is there any perticular reason why you are installing the wire? I didn't and it runs fine.

I tapped mine off of the ecu also. It's very easy to get to. BTW how does your car run with the 710?

To run the maft properly, the tach wire should be connected. This is how it chooses the distance along the interpolated line between the set points of the maps. It uses airflow/rpm to determine load. Without it connected, it goes into a backup mode and solely uses airflow to decide what setting to give you. Also in backup mode, the aux function is disabled.

Isn't that just for those that use the MAFT to tune with? I am just using it as a straight translator to the ECU.. and use the AFC to tune.

thats fine then

Guys can someone tell me where to tap the white wire from, i know is either the CAS or the power transitor, i don't know exactly where though. My CAS as a connector and two wires coming off the connector, black and red. Then what i think is the power transitor, which is above the injectors, only has 7 wires not eight, which one do i tap? Thanks a lot for your help, i really need to know since im just waiting for this to connect my MAFT

guys i revived this thread not to make fun of the oil cap, can someone please help out here with what the original title of this forum was. Thanks for your time.

I want to mount it in the engine bay, so i need to get it either from the CAS or the power transitor. Thanks for your reply though
