Ok my fried has a 91 gsx and he is now venting his bov to the atmosphere and it runs great! He took the hose off the blow off valve, drove it for awile, came back, grounded the timing plug thing, grounded one of the wires going to the ecu, and reset the idle, plugged it back in, and its ran fine since. This is just what he tells me but I rode in his car and it pulls hard, no bucking. Idels fine. He doesnt have a air/fuel guage though so we dont know how he is running. What are your guys thoughts on this?

If you read other posts in relation to venting and bov's, you will find that doing so will make you run rich....ehhhh....just scroll down a little bit, you'll see.

This should be in the NOOB forum...not performance related.

Im not a noobie so shut it fat kid. I have never heard of someone doing this thats why. Car seems to be running fine, NOT RICH. Just wondering if anyone has heard of doing this before? Dont be asses because I ask a question, jeez

um.... that's exactly why it should be General/Newbie Forum. if you have seriously never heard of venting the BOV to the atmosphere, then you MUST be a newbie. anyway, venting the BOV to the atmosphere has been thoroughly beaten to death on every single DSM forum there is. while SOME people's cars may run fine, it will still run rich because the air has already been counted by the MAS. the engine is expecting it, it's not there, but the correct amount of fuel is still being put into the cylinder.

if you want to vent the right way, get rid of the MAS and convert to a VPC or standalone
