Im installing it right now and everthing was going well untill I got to the intake manifold bolts. The one that connect the turbo to the intake manifold. I can't get them off :cry: . I've used penetrating oil, the car jack, and I even tried brute force. Any usefull ideas would be great.

PB Blaster is the best you can get easily.

If you REALLY want a good Penetrating spray go to a place that sells Airplane stuff and pick up a bottle of "Mouse Milk" Yes that is what it is really called. This stuff smells like sh|t but it will allow you bust anything loose.
 
Just use a breaker bar and put some oooomph in it. You will then here a snap. The first time I removed mine and it made tha sound I thought for sure I had broken one. All four will make that sound.
 
Be carefull if you use a breaker bar, you don't want to snap the head off a bolt . Try to soak it with penatraiting oil for a couple of days. Or what I have found to be the best is bee's wax , YES BEE's wax, heat up the bolt/nut touch the wax to It , and It will suck the wax right into the threads , let it soak in for 10 to 15 min and its out . :thumb:
 
I'm going to ask for a breaker bar for x-mas.. But I did get all of them off eventually.

A cheater pipe works well. Don't be surprised if you breakone. Remember to use never seize (sp?) when you put them back in."CBgst"

Do you mean anti-seize because I put that on the Exhuast bolts, )2 sensor housing bolts, And DP bolts.

I pinched my oil feed line though, dont worry I'm replacing it before it start the car.

On the instructions it said to "disable" ignition and crank the engine. Why?

Exhuast manifold/intake manifold... Whats the diff :D

To keep the engine from starting. You just want to turn it over some to get the oil flowing into the turbo before the engine actually starts running. I personally don't think it's terribly important, but it can't hurt.
 
Also, if this is your first time, then one of the 4 will be a stud and not a bolt. I would go to your local satan dealer and get another one when you put it back on.

You possibly could, but I think the bolt really needs to be an automotive grade type bolt for it to be done rght.
 
When fellow DSMtuners member Ricardo and I installed his T-28, we used a Home Depot bolt as a temporary solution until the Mitsu bolt he ordered arrived at the local Satan. When we took the Home Depot bolt out, it was very discolored with a white, ashy surface (from the heat obviously), and looked a lot older than it actually was. I'm glad we didn't leave it in there. It may have held up for years, but I wouldn't have put money on it-- that's a lot of heat. It's just too harsh of an environment for cheap parts.
 
Ok thanks for the info, its good to know. I'm just trying to save myself some hassle down the road when I get a new manifold or replace my 02 sensor housing. My thinking Is that a little of my time now could same me a lot of my time later.
