It's good to see efforts to drive the cost of FMICs down. :thumb:

FMICs are so rediculously expensive for something that's constructed like a radiator and does much less. It's more like paying for the brand and having these guys set the price and make tuners believe that it is acceptable. Somebody should pick this setup, test it and give the forum a fair review.

Knowing the pricing of mandrel bends, and the low cost you can get side to side flow cores at, i wouldnt be worried. He probly buys the cores, and gets some mandrel bends, coupling, clamps all done. Notice the piping doesnt include necessary j-pipes, UICP's etc. The piping isnt beaded on the ends, and it appears to be just plain steel. Hence the low cost.

Greddy and Apex'i do not include piping in their FMICs and asks $200 for them. FMICs normally do not come with J-pipes, just pipes and coupling to attach it to the stock UICP (long piping method) and turbo.

bends are 10-12$/peice. coupling the nitrile rubber can be had for 10$/ft, and clamps are like 1$/peice. well under 100$ for piping, pickup a core for 2-300$ even. He makes a decent profit and does nothing but cut the pipes.

I have Jr's Fmic and it is awesome!! Straight bolt up, all couplers and Tbolt clamps. Oh and the pipes are beaded, so no poping them off.......Trust me thats no fun :shhh: Very nice pice for the price, and I haven't had any overheating issues with my radiator yet.

I have seen the StreetImports/Yonaka intercoolers. For the size, fit and finish it is worth the $300 pricetag it asks. All you need is to buy mandrel bent pipes from Summit Racing and you are good to go.

There are many choices out there now for street or racing applications at the $300-$600 range and could compete with costly setups that are well above the $1000 range with piping.
