The RS*R is more higher class daily driver type exhaust, while the dunk is more higher hp ### tuner exhaust because its full 3". I don't recommend either, Custom Full 3" Thermal is my thing. :shhh:

I have Apexi N1 if you want i can record you a video of how it sounds. ITs the best thing from what i have seen. pm me if you want the video

a poll for two discontinued exhausts

anyhow, the RS*R is not quite 3", it's 2.75. I think the dunk slowly gets larger as you progress towards the muffler (if I recall correctly), but not quite sure how large it gets. the RS*R follows stock routing and goes over the axle, whereas the dunk goes under. the main section of the RS*R is that particle coated steel, while the muffler section is all polished. I'm assuming the dunk is going to be louder than the RS*R, which is a tad louder than stock.
here's a pic I found in the classifieds section:

I went with the RS*R because I'm tired of loud exhausts and having the coffee can look:

well i heard the clip(which included a downpipe so was a lil bit louder) and i think im goin with the dunk.It looks big and i was unsure on sound at first but IMHO it sounds pretty mean with a unique tone. Also i would say only slightly louder than stock. Also ive been comparing clips and the dunk sounds VERY close to ATR exhaust.

The RS*R is known for it's huge tip...

I just bought a full turboback RS*R BTW. Can't wait to get it on the GSX.

Hopefully ill have mine on this week. I have had my dunk for about 2 months but I needed to pass emissions first before I put on my 02-back. Plus I think I might have enough money so that I can afford getting my 02 housing ported or getting a new one cuz im a ####y when it comes to boost creep. Anyone know any good housings that fit up to the stock turbo (t25) but also fits the speed-factors To4b b-52????

I have a full 3" turbo back apexi dunk "megaphone" exhaust on my car. It only has one bend before the muffler unlike the one above but i suspect thats the fwd one. It sounds very good, it growls and flows nice as well. The only thing i want to change maybe is the muffler...its huge and it gets attention from the popo. Anyways, where are you getting this dunk from, i thought they were discontinued? I get alot of people asking me where to get it and i tell them its discontinued so id like to know if theres a place selling them. :thumb:

I have a full RS*R exhaust on my car. At idle and 2.5-3k cruise RPM it doesnt drown out everthing like other exhausts. The tip on the exhaust is maybe 3.5" which is not big at all in my eyes. My buddy has the Dunk on his car and it is quite a bit louder than my exhaust at all levels. Both are Turbo backs, no cats on either exhaust. Apexi and RS*R downpipes are pretty much identically along with the routing of the exhaust piping itself. Only unique characteristic they have is the muffler design to set them apart.

Man i just cant decide now after listening to RSR and dunk. I have listened to both clips so many times. They both have AWESOME tones Dunk being slightly throatier and RSR sounding so clean but deep at same time. Im gonna wait till this thread dies out and see what the poll is sitting at.

Do you guys mean N1? I don't see any type of exhuast call "dunk" on Apexi's website.

Also incase you guys are talking about the N1 it is actuall bigger than 3". the DP goes from 2.5" to 80mm and then that is how the rest of the exhaust goes. 25mm to an 1" so it is a little bigger.

Dunk is old school. they dicontinued the exhuast system. as far as i know the piping for the Apexi is still coated and isn't a true stainless piping. Im not sure.. but if i had to pick up a Apexi system it would be the flag ship GT series. RS*R stopped selling exhustin the states a few years ago. if you look the WS Apexi looks like the RS*R. I guess RS*S came back with a new line of exhuast. The new system says its a full stainless and its coated black for the stock look. If i had a pick a system. I'd make sure its 80mm (3.14") and the piping is stainless. thats why I picked up my Tanabe SRM. cause it had all those..

GT and N-1 systems are the same size, it is just that the GT is all stainless steel whereas the N-1 and Dunk have the purple coating on the piping. Sizing differs between T's and X's though.

i have the apexi n-1 and i like it a lot. it is loud though, but not loud enough to attract attention from the po.

I have the RS*R (Old school version) Fully polished from the axel back, full stainless steel construction, flawless fit, very quite at idle and around town driving even with no cat. BTW the tip is only about 3.5" OD. Very subtle and very clean looking.

I am re-thinking my exhaust. I custom built my own 3" turbo-back. I am using a Magna-Flow Race Series Muffler with 3" Inlet and 4" Tip. I wanted some smaller but couldn't find anything else with a 3" inlet. But it looks and sounds great. Just wanted something more "stock" looking.
