Well people here are telling me that i will regret putting in a fidanza flywheel, that my car will lose top end from 3rd gear on and that since i am not pushing out a lot of HP less than 300hp, it will make the car slower and whatnot, i really don't know what to think or do.

Well to me thats BS I'm so glad I did that mod to my car. IF anything it ADDED top end which makes sense I guess :p . Do it you wont regret it ;)

It makes it a chore to drive sometimes. And will be harder to drive with a heavy pressure plate. Also light flywheels suck ass for dragracing as they have less inertia to throw into the launch. Lightened flywheels are mainly for someone who really needs extra response. Like say for autocrossing.

What??? Lighter flywheel are awesome. Your gains will help with Road racing or Drag.. You just will need to launch from a higher RPM.. No big deal. Some of the fastest guys are running alum Rods and knife edge cranks to lower the the mass with will alow you to rev faster. Please don't post opinions.. only facts.

For me it was a little more of a hassle then a help. Although I haven't dyno'd the car after the install to see how much it helped - maybe that would change my opinion. I don't compete with my car, its just a weekend driver. The lightened flywheel makes casual driving a bit of a chore as it takes more revs to keep from bogging. I've gotten used to it, but I still realize its there, especially since my IAC is going bad. I've got the XACT Streetlite BTW.

I think the whole inertia-for-launch thing only applies to AWD anyway, Its waaay too easy to lose traction in FWD. And as far as the driveability issues, losing 20lbs seems like a lot. However there is still a lot of rotating mass that is retained. It really does not make driving hard. I highly recommend a fidanza flywheel. It is not hard to find them for ~$220 brand new.

Good luck.

I've got the whole lightweight flywheel, knife edge crank, etc. setup. Isn't much fun around town. Makes launching the car a good deal harder. BUT, it's awesome out on road courses. Autox, it doesn't really matter either way to me. Rally, I'd probably be a little happier with a stocker.
