Where to hook up oil pressure guage?

The autometer sender will replace the factory sender unit on the oil pump housing. It should screw in easily, the threads are nearly identical. Just don't cross thread it, over-tighten it, or strip it.

are there any other places other then the stock location to mount an oil pressure gauge sending unit for an electrical gauge?? Id like to keep my stock gauge and have my greddy gauge as well..

Hey larry just do what i did hook the wire for the stock guage and the autometer gauge to the sending unit. I havnt started the car up yet.
ill do it tomorrow but in theory it should work the damn mosquites were pissing me off so i came inside.

if you unhook your stock sender then your check oil light will always be on..... why dont you go buy a T with one male fitting and two females fittings and put both on there?????? the autometer and OEM senders can both be on there then!!!! thats what i did only i have a mechanical cause it looks better.

what a coincidence....I try to read a page or so a night in my Haynes manual, to become knowledgeable about my car, and I was reading around this page last night. There is actually two places right near the filter that you can tap a mechanical guage. You guys' are electrical...so I don't know where those feed off of, but anyone has a question about a mechanical on a first gen...:thumb:

on the oil filter housing, you'll see some hex-shaped plugs. remove one of those (it takes some effort, they're tight). the thread is 3/8" NPT. get some brass fittings to get the sender to go there.

actually that light doesnt work off the sender.. it has another sensor which the light just wont work at all if the wire is unhooked.

Well i put mine in i took the stock one off and put in the autometer one.
I hooked the stock and the autometer to the sender but the reading were all messed up so i just the autometer one on. Let the stock one off.
