What is your torque converter slippage?? Formula inside.

Looking to see who is making an efficient converter to buy from. Here is the formula to figure out your converter slippage.

GEAR X MPH X 336= ???/ TIRE HEIGHT = Zero slippage

Example

4.10 x 122 x 366 = 183073.2/24.5 = 7472 ( zero slippage )

If at the race track your true rpm through the traps was 7950 then divide the two

7472/7950 = .939

Your converter is slipping 6%. 3-6% is generally really good on a non lock up converter.

Keep in mind that your tire diameter/height grows by a nonzero amount by the time you hit the traps, especially if you're running slicks, and doubly so if you're actually hitting the traps at decent speeds.

Some race slicks can get 20% (!) more diameter at the end of the track versus sitting static at the starting line.

If you're running street tires though, this formula will get you quite close.
