Recently traded my 2gb eclipse sideskirts for 2ga talon twistys. Since my car is an RS, it never came with body holes or clips to put them on.

So what im wondering is, Is 3M strong enough to hold the door caps on? the bottom portion and end cap have screws to have extra security, but the door caps do not. How do some of you guys stick them on without them falling off?

Just drill the holes. Isn't hard at all. Put some paste/grease or something on the sideskirt where the hole needs to be, put the skirt up to the car, and press. After you remove the skirts there should be imprints where all the holes need to be.

I also don't have the clips. The only dealer around here wants 30 bucks for both sets for both sides, is that a good deal?

i just did a 2gb conversion with my 96 ga. i used 3m double sided tape and if its done right it wont fall off at all. my painter recommends the 3m tape. i had gsx side skirts but my body was painted already and ran into your same problem. i ended up using wings west side skirts and double sided tape looks really good. got pics on my profile. if you do use the gb skirts you will need to get all the hardware and drill into the body which isnt easy if you never done it. one wrong hole and it wont line up.

Make a template from poster board that matches the sideskirt exactly.
Then tape it to the car and drill the holes.
I tried putting double sided sticky tape where the clips go to mark where to drill.
I put grease on the sideskirt so the tape would stay on the car.
The holes were misaligned barely and I had to drill more holes.

I used 3m window-weld when I installed mine ages ago. Kinda spendy for an adhesive but it'll never let go!

+1 on drilling. $30 for all the body clips isn't a bad deal. It seems like every time I need misc clips they're $2-3. Probably like 15 clips so my vote is get the clips and drill.
