Why not try it? Also, have you checked the rubber hangers for damage? If they are almost all auto part stores sell them.
 
Different hanger's, usually shorter ones work. Just tell any exhaust shop what you want, and they will do it. I changed my exhaust on my old 2G AWD many times.

Had the muffler raised later, just sectioned the pipe, then added a slight bent to raise it up, and new hanger welded.

Later I switched to a Flowmaster 40 series. Then after that I ran no muffler, just straight 3" Turbo-back no muffler, no cat=very loud and mean:sneaky:

Cant tell in this picture, just had straight pipe inplace of the muffler

i still havent tucked it. LAZY! i got some lambo door hinges and other stuff i have been working on so i guess i forgot it.

speaking of my exhaust.. backed up into a curb with it today.. bulls*it
