Hello,

I was wondering if these aluminum/carbon fibre dash kits sold on ebay actualy look/keep looking good. I don't wanna spend like $100 on a kit that looks good in a picture and have it peel and not look sharp.

Just wondering if anyone has used them, and if they are worth even considering.

Thanks

Celos

i don't think they are actual 'real' al/cf kits....not from the actual material....more like plastic

as i learned myself...on ebay you get what you pay for

i believe machv has some actual al/cf kits.....

i was considering getting a dash kit myself...but as of now i perfer the stock look and if i'm going to spend anything on interior apperances...i'll go with painting it.

The kits on eBay are not real aluminum or carbon. If you look at the carbon kit closely, it's just the fake print they use on carbon fiber look vinyl. And the aluminum is basically silver paint covered with a clear resin. The tape they use is fine since it's supplied by 3M who supplies all dash kit companies, so it won't peel. But the cheap kits have been known to yellow in direct sunlight. The epoxy resin coat isn't UV resistant like it is on more expensive kits.

Our shop makes the only real aluminum kits being sold, and we actually supply MachV with their AL kits. And we carry real carbon fiber kits. And it's true that you get what you pay for, our manufacturing cost is about what those eBay kits are being sold for. Our kits sell for about double what the eBay kits sell for. and we get surprisingly high number of people who bought cheap kits and didn't like them.

I received my aluminum dash kit from AP-signworks today. I got the kit for $105.00 off of an Ebay auction and I can vouch for them that it is EXCELLENT real aluminum. The Quality is the best!!!! I really love it.

Glad to hear you like the kit.

That explains why mine looks yellow. when i bought the car it had an alum kit already. it looks yellow, but in the light it looks alum. how much for a kit AP ?

The AP-Signworks kit is $220, but maybe they will hook you up for $105 like they did for me, however I can't speak for them. You will like the quality though:thumb:

JdmAWD,

If I had a turbo then I could agree with you all parts to go fast, but when you have a wimpy 135hp car the best you can do is try to fix it up to look good. Aluminum wing and aluminum dash YES!!:thumb:

i do see your point about having a non turbo. but not the wing:D

:cool:In the spring I should have my stuff together and hopefully I can post some pictures of my car in the gallery. It looks pretty sweet with the aluminum wing. You will just have to see it. It will amaze you :thumb:

If my interior is done by then: Reverse Indiglo Gauges, RED/BLACK seats, Silver & Aluminum dashboard. It is going to be really cool;) .................you will see.

:dsm:

Carbon Fiber is really cool. I don't see it used enough in my opinion in interiors. I was going to get Carbon Fiber for my car, but I am trying to lighten up the color of the already dark interior and after I saw the quality AP-Signworks real aluminum kit on sale on Ebay. I had to get it!
