What direction should I take my setup?
I can either buy all the stuff for a blow through GM MAFT setup...
(FMIC, some custom piping, and the translator...I already have the MAS)

or

I could nab an evo 16g and manifold.
(This means I would be running it on the stock SMIC with no hard UICP)

Right now I have hellah boost creep. . . supposedly the 16g would help fix that issue (I would be porting the bejeesus out of the o2 housing).

So feel free to toss some ideas/criticism my way.

Its obviously overkill for the 14b... but would some port work on the 02 housing and the 16g with the 34mm wastegate mod at least help the creep issue a litte bit? Right now, it's set at 15-16 and creeps past 20 damn fast if I'm not careful.

For what reason do you truly need the blowthrough setup at the moment? (Not being a newb, just asking why you want it right now).
I would buy the evo 16g and manifold and pickup an ported evo02 housing or like you said port the everliving hell out of yours.

If you wanted to do something that would be a little "wiser" to do then you should pickup a HARD UPIC pipe and possibly drop your 14b and port the crap out of it also.

Cliff Notes: Port the hell out of your turbo and o2 housing and buy a hard upper ic pipe.

Oh, I definitely don't *need* the blow through setup. But like I said, I already have the sensor. (A friend sold it to me brand new for $20...how could I resist?) Therefore, if I were to go the FMIC route, why not just get it all over with in one step? *shrug*

The porting/hard UICP way would definitely be the most economical.

Thanks for the input!

I thought boost creep was where the wastegate couldnt let out enough exhaust and it continued to spin the turbine insted of go out that gate, so what im not getting is why a 3" exhaust would give him more boost creep wouldnt it actually help a tad, i really dont see how it could make it worse>?

From what I've been reading he's probably right. I would still get creep. I'd guess that it would have to be less than what I'm getting right now. Yay for the 14b! :p

the gas will take the path of the least resistance, through the big 3" pipe, or the tiny wastegate opening? only way to cure boost creep is to do a bunch of porting around the wastegate and get a bigger flapper, 34mm is a very popular upgrade....or just get a big turbo that requires an external gate:thumb:

Okay i still dont see how a 3" DP and 3" cat back are gonna make boost creep worse. Unless he has a external dump it seems to me that the gas going through the wastegate is going to be going through that 3"pipe also. I can see this happening if the O2housing turbine outlet thing was big and the wastegate dump was way to small(under the right situation), since the wastegate gas is normally dumped into the 02 housing it all flows through the 3" DP all the same. Thats just what seems right to me, if someone can tell me otherwise feel free to do so, im no expert.LOL
