Ok, I don't know what it is called, but it is a thin circular metal plate that sits behind the crankshaft pulley that is used for the crankshaft sensor. I need to buy one but I don't know where to look. All the junkyards around here do not have any Eclipses/Talons, and I don't have a mitsu dealer. I called the chrysler center and they wanted a vin and wouldn't work on my eclipse...

I'm stuck and I need this piece to get my car running!

Make sure if you order one that you get a 7 bolt one. It WILL make a difference. Also they have free shipping so I would just get it from them. Mitsu will probably charge a ton.

Good point on the 7bolt not 6 bolt one, I didn't bother to check that. However, even though SBR isn't charging for shipping they are charging a 7.95 handling fee on all orders.

The correct term for it is a Crank Shaft Angle Sensor Reluctor Ring. There is a little magnet in that sensor. Depending on if there is the metal part of the ring or just air it changes the voltage coming out of that sensor. All the "windows" aren't the same size(This is how the computer tells which is TDC on which cylinder). It is very import to get the correct year and part. Changing technology in the industry especially in the 90' smeant they changed the design of the sensors. The complexity of these peticular parts increased in order to get things like more accurate timing and quicker startups. Make sure you get the right part and don't bent the vanes or it will drastically change things. That being said you can probably get this part from the dealership or maybe even a big chain parts store.

I don't see a 7-bolt plat at SBR so maybe I'll check the chrysler dealer and see how much they want for one. Otherwise I'll call SBR and see if they sell a 7bolt version

thanks for all the help everyone!:thumb:
