Shift Kit installation

Just got a translab shift kit for my 98 gs-t and was wondering how difficult this would be to install. My brother and i have some basic auto knowledge and have done many mods to our cars but have never worked with a transmission, is this something we could install ourselves or should i look to get it done at a performance shop. thanks in advance.
