Im getting SMIM from Magnus, ive researched about it and its looks very good mod, but i dont know if should i get big throtle too...

Is a throtle a must with SMIM or can i leave stock 60mm on it?

BTW my 1/4 mile time is 12.17 (mods on profile)

What gains can i expect just installing Magnus SMIM? Ive read DSMJim tech article and he gains 0.4 sec just for installation!!! Is possible to myself to enter at 11s just installing it?

Thanks for input :thumb:

Actually, you should be able to run 11's with your current setup.

Anyway, the magnus will give you better pull in the higher rpm range. Low end power will suffer slightly but you should be able to feel the difference from 5k rpm and up. I dont know what rpm you shift at now but you will find that you want to shift at 8krpm + when using the magnus at morderate to high boost levels.

We have made more than 500whp on several stock throttle bodies. Magnus makes a great intake manifold.

I'd have to agree. Over half the people I've spoke with say that the aftermarket T bodies are a PITA to setup and get to work flawlessly, and with the price of them, and with stock units being able to support 500+ WHP, IMO, stick with the stock unit for as long as you can.

I had mine flanged for both just in case, but after looking into all of the idle control and TPS adjustments necessary I'm glad I had it flanged for the 1g TB as well. If you are looking to get rid of the crappy TB elbow and looking to eliminate a boost leak source, swap a 1g N/T throttle body on and get a good silicone elbow for it. I got 90* and 45* 4-ply silicone elbows for like $25 shipped each off of eBay.

I would definately say the Mustang TB is not worth it especially if since you only have 2.5" intercooler piping anyways.

As far as the gains go, it really depends on what your car is set-up for. If its a drag car, the SMIM is great...but mine is a DD and I got used to the low end torque my old Cyclone manifold used to put out, but the top end punch is great. Keep that in mind as peak power is great, but I'd rather have a broader curve in my daily driver.

Then put the cyclone back on and sell me the SMIM!!

^^Man everyone's a vulture ROFL

I'm going to put a few 1/4 passes on it this week to see if there were any major differences...my butt dyno tends to be a bit off. I remember my car felt slower when I first put an open element filter and hard intake pipe on. :shhh:

The 1g nt tb looks like a good idea. I never heard of doing that. Is the nt tb larger than the turbo one?

The N/T TB is the same size as the Turbo TB. I took the N/T TB too the limit 33psi. I need to upgrade now. :( I made 531 awdhp and 521 Tq...
