ruff sound

The other day I was driving hard and all of a sudden it sounded like someone stuck a potatoe in my exhaust . The car idles fine and is not over heating ,it just runs like it is being chocked out .I think it is the cat does anybody agree or have a nother idea. I have good fuel psi and oil psi and good trans temp and volt . It just sound funny and is running to high of RPM for such little power please help !!!

id say its a plugged cat.. but im no expert on anything..

if it is a plugged cat it will be glowing red. possibly somewhere before that.

ya just take the cat off and look inside.. but youll have to heat the bolts to get em loose..

Well got out there and took the cat off but it didn't fix my problem.I traced the problem to the number 3 port on my exhaust header has a crack on the weld joint. So hopefully I can get by a welder and get it fixed in the next few days or so. I have been wanting to get rid of the cat anyway so I guess its not a total waste of a day.

Well ended up just buying a welder for my self because welders round here want Dr. prices just to slap a few welds on one guy wanted 40 a weld and a nother wanted 85 a hour.Thats just insane to me.So I welded the little crack and still didn't fix the problem. Looked farther down the line on the #3 header and found a spot the size of a pencil were it looks like a rock or something busted a hole so I guess its time for new headers wich is a shame I liked my greddy headers.

dude if you mean the hole size is the diameter of a pencil, thats easy to weld.. i been welding for 3 years and welded holes much bigger than that up...

True but were its located I'll have to pull the headers to get to it my anology of a pencil is just what it fells like I don't know if its cracked farther or not I'm going to try to pull it this weekend if weather permits
