repainting side view mirrors

I need to repaint my side view mirrors. I got some black and clear spray paint made for autos. Is it easy to remove the mirrors or should I just tape up and paint them on the car? How should I sand it to prepare the surface? I never really painted body parts

For what your are doing i would leave the mirrors on the car, Tape Them off then if the surface is smooth and just needs to be prepped i would get i red prep pad and scuff the area you are painting. I would also use some primer before you paint them

could I just wet sand it with a fine sand paper and is primer really needed?

I would definitely prime them first.

Yes, you can just wet and them that would work just fine. I would absolutely recommend you primer them first. It will most likely flake off over time if you don't.

You could just take them off the car. That will save you time of covering up the rest of the car or taking chance of having overspray somewhere else on the car that you don't want to. Plus, with it out, you can prep and paint it easier.

Take them off the car, and you shouldn't prime hard plastic. You use an adhesion promoter instead.

serious? theres a lil black triangle behind the actual mirror.(inside car) that you pop off exposing the 3 nuts that hold it on. not rocket science
