DSMs have LSD oem. Have you upgraded to a four bolt axle yet? If not look for the heatsink on the pumpkin cover when shopping for axles.

i havent upgraded yet but i plan to. i was wondering if anyone sold an aftermarket one for 3 bolt or 4 bolts and if there was any point in upgrading

I was wondering the same thing also. I have the orange sticker in my doorjamb meaning I have the lsd but last winter I got stuck in a snow bank. Much to my surprise, even after all the 4 wheel spinning I did (or so I thought ) to de-stuck myself, the right rear tire was still covered in snow!? The other three tires were hot from the spinning and snow has melted underneath them.

If my lsd is broken, I would replace it with an aftermarket one!

what would be the advantage to upgrading the rear lsd?

Upgrading the rear LSD would coust 800 plus 600 for the inner joints needed. $1400 is quite pricey when you can just replace it with a stock unit.
