Quick question about installing a catback on a 1g fwd

I don't have time to search now, but I noticed that where the exhaust pipe goes over the rear axle/bar, that it would be hard to fit a 3" pipe because of some brace or bracket that attaches from the passenger side bottom of the strut/shock to the bottom of the trunk or fuel tank or something, it looks tack-welded. A local shop said it would be tight unless he cut that piece off. Is that okay to do, can anyone offer any advice on getting a 3" exhaust over the rear axle. That brace looks pointless to me. Thanks.

Got off my lazy ass and called RNR racing.
They said it even goes ABOVE that little brace.
They said it's a bi*** to get into and fit it but it fits snug and dosen't move.


Why not just search or call?

why do you need to be 3 inches? That shit will scrape. You'll lose torque. If you want more horses do some real mods(pistons, boring, cam, NOS) sweetheart.
