Car is a 95 fwd auto. Put a rebuilt motor in. Lastnight we started it up and the car ran fine. Today come in to move the car and it wont start. if it did start it ran like ass, idled around 500 rpm and would die if gas was pressed. Checked codes P0340 camshaft position sensor. I have a haynes manual but the test procedure is confusing. can someone Please clear this up for me and tell me the proper test procedure for the cam sensor. I have done searches but couldnt find how to test, sorry if this has been answered a million times and Im just a moron.
Thanks
Joel
Edit.
If the haynes is correct then the top pin is 12v the middle is ground and the bottom is sig. If this is the case then it is getting 12v when I ground the meter anywhere metal, but when I ground it on the middle pin im getting ~ 8.5v

Thanks
Joel
