Very nice! And no biggie, better late then never. There was a post earlier about 1g bov in the classifieds, check there. That's what I have. What makes you think you need a new one?

Well since your car is a 98 it possibly has a black box ecu which is a plus you can get a tactrix cable for around 100 bucks. You'll be able to do that "same" thing as Link with the black box for way cheaper. I use same loosely because I'm not 100% sure on what functions blackbox doesn't do compared to link.

It's a nice basic upgrade from the stock one because that plastic pos leaks above 12psi or something. Let me know how the car feels with everything when you get a chance to drive it, I'm very interested.

It's a metal bov so maybe it's already been upgraded..i took a drive with just the ic piping intake and spark plugs..it pulls a tiny bit better but you hear the turbo WWWAAAYYY better..i tried to out the exhaust on today but it's been welded to the cat so off the a muffler shop tomorrow to have the exhaust installed

Marvin how would I be able to confirm the black box ecu? And this cable will allow it to be tuned? I'll do some research into it tonight

Oh and just to be 100% honest..thats just upper intercooler piping..funny story I ordered the wrong piping kit I didn't notice in the add to after I bought it that it said it would not fit the stock turbo..so I just made it work..ill have to figure something out for the lower pipe..saddly I'm starting to have trans problems (automatic transmission) it's slipping every now and then..i out some Lucas in tonight just to see what it does..but the trans will most likely be the next thing I mess with.. no lie iim feeling a little set back but I just keep thinking when I'm done it will be a nicely modded healthy daily

The black box is behind that kick panel on the right (Driver Seat Location) ecu will literally be black . With tactrix cable you'll be able to tune. Cable should be around 100 Bucks

Ecmlink should definitely be your next upgrade along with some gauges. AFR, Boost and fuel pressure gauges. They will be your cars best friends for the rest of its life.

So got the exhaust on..sounds wayyy better feels a little better to..im content for now but the next steps will be intake manifold,exhaust manifold,cams,fuel pump,and a ECULink hopefully I can have all this done by August

You get a chance to look into the black box. Defiantly the best bang for your buck especially shouldn't matter on how tuner friendly it is because I don't think you'd be tuning your self?

No I haven't had a chance gonna lookk today when I get back home..and know I wouldn't be tuning myself..but for a lightly modded car do I need new injectors or just the fuel pump

Hey sinned how far away from running are You? What's the plan for your build?

I'd like to see the 300 to 350 range to start being that this is my first DSM as well along with first turbo vehicle. But ultimately a solid daily driver to stick around for many years. After I get the basics (right now is just coolant hoses and plug wires) I should be set to start on my goodies cause I've already got my gauges and 1g bov. I'd like a nice 3 inch turbo back with a 7 inch fmic, small enough so I don't have to mess with the crash beam and some hard pipes with an intake and ecm link. After that will definitely be suspension and fuel system with pump and injectors, the after that I'd like to do a little engine work (valves, lifters, springs, maybe cams) in conjunction with intake and exhaust manifolds. Not sure which point I'll consider a turbo and I'm sure I'll find more stuff it needs as I go. Should probably do my clutch too.. Yeah I'm going to be around the 350+ Area. Not to difficulty to reach that goal. Going to be trying to hit that limit with HKS 272 Cams on a Fp Mani Evo 3 16g On E85. PO Put in a ACT Clutch With Jacks Trans

Your next mods should be: ECU, fuel system, turbo. In that order. Don't bother with manifolds or cams your T25 doesn't flow anywhere near enough to be choked off by your stock hardware. It also wouldn't be a bad idea to change out old vac lines and get a boost leak tester, you'll also need a wideband and boost gauge.

I douubt there's any boost leaks when I did the ic piping I went ahead and just started replacing all the vac lines..well the ones I could find a boost leak,test wouldn't be a bad idea.. where can I buy one?

You need the ECU before you do fuel, fuel before you do a turbo, etc. In general it is nice because you can really tweak things to get everything dialed in.

There are always boost leaks. $10 says you have leaks around your injectors and your throttle body seals at a minimum. Boost leak tester is a rubber plumbing coupler, a PVC cap, tire valve, and if you want to be fancy, an autozone tire pressure gauge. There has to be at least 5 threads about how to build one if you google it.
