Leakdown test

Hi, I have been reading a lot about these and people tend to recommend them to check your engine. Well my engine is getting up there in mileage. Anyways, I dont know anything about them. Where do you get them at? A dealer? How much do they cost (ballpark)? And what all can they tell you about your engine? Thanks
