topic says it all i was wondering if this could be the problem i am having w/my trans.

I am not sure, i have never heard of any one having to change it for the jdm tranny but i could be wrong.

I would assume that the answer would be yes. What is the problem that you are having with your trans anyway?

Stuck in 3rd gear soon as I go.. I checked all wiring eveything was fine.. It threw solenoid codes however I was wondering if it could be because of the tcu not being jdm..

If you want, call my shop tomorrow- 973 827 9946 and I will try to help you sort out the problem. I'm sure that there is a simple explanation.

check the spline count. Same thing happend to my friends GVR4. stuck in 3rd gear turned out it was the wrong spline count. You check the i think vin on the tranny or part number of the old one to the new one to compare.

Are you talking about an automatic?

it was a mtx tranny, that my friend got for his GVR4. it seemed fine at first then it got stuck in gear, he had to go back twice to get the right tranny from the place. Lucky the place had acouple in stock.

Ok, I think we're talking about an automatic that is in 'limp mode" here.
