Im a newby looking to buy a 1g Talon

Hey guys, Im brand new to this forum, I did a quick search and checked the faq first, so hopefully this isn't a redundant post. Today I am going to look at a 92 Talon TSI AWD that I am thinking about buying. I am not too familiar with this platform so I was wondering if you guys had any suggestions on specific things to check for these types of cars. I am not new to buying cars, so I know the basic things to look for on any car. I am new to turbocharged vehicles, I know a little bit about them, but as for things to check Im kind of vague. Im looking for DSM specific problems to check for. Thanks for the help, I appreciate any replies.

All depends on if you are buying a running car are or not, and yes this is a common question . Pull the pipe off ,and check the turbo for shaft play(with engine off of coure directions for this if you do a shaft play search ). Check the timing marks, Crank car LISTEN to it run. Drive it.... Make sure it shifts well. Also sometimes you cant tell a syncro is bad unless your up in the RPMs so be sure to do that as well. Post back if you by it, and get a list of things to do as soon as you get it. Or try doing a search for that as well.
