So first off my car is a 97 gsx. Only mods are 3" turbo back exhaust, hks bov recur'd, and an open o2 dump. I recently replaced plugs(ngk gapped to spec), and wires (magnacor), fuel filter, and pcv valve.
So last night I was driving home and I went to merge onto the highway getting on the throttle and all of a sudden I lost power and the check engine light went on. I immediately pulled over and checked the code. Came up as p0300 (random/millipede cylinder misfire detected). Opened the hood and pushed on all the connectors and plug wires to make sure they were making a good connection. Everything seemed good so I tried to start it up and it started and idled good. I reved it up while sitting the on the side of the road and reved good no issues. I started driving again and about 2 miles later of normal driving the cel came on again. This time tried the same thing but did not solve the problem. I decided to drive the 2 more miles to my home basically forcing the car to idle. If I took my foot off the gas the idle would stay at about 100 rpms. I got about 1/4 mile from my house and I lost all power and smelled a burning smell(electrical). Turns out I blew my ignition fuse some house (40 amp under the hood). Towed it back to my house and replaced the fuse and the car started up but idled like crap. Shut it off and pulled the plugs. The cylinder 1 and 4 were pretty black from the misfire.
I know this code comes up a lot but any idea why the ignition fuse would blow after driving about 2 miles?
Thanks in advance
Brian
