Ok I havent gotten any luck fixing this damn car, one problem after another. No answers online found or told. My 95 gs i just replaced a hell of a lot of parts. it was rebuilt 5k miles ago and some parts were reused so i replaced them. Just did the rod bearings and now after letting my car sit over night it will start then stall out like if i were to shut if off. Then i go to start it again and itll crank until it dies. Pedal to the floor itll try to start, if it starts then idle will jump all over and stall quickly. Fuel pump will only kick on after first start if i pull the ECU. Its like the ECU is telling the fuel pump to shut off after the first start??? Why would this be? I been wrenching on this car for 3 months. dropped almost a 1000 into her. shes purty, shes modded and shes sleeping in the driveway. More like hibernating. Any ideas? For quicker responce text me 440......654.....0344 I just want to get it out to dsm shootout :)

Check the crank sensor or cam sensor. Just a thought my gst would start run fine then as soon as it went into close loop would die. Then if I waited a while it would start back up and do the same thing. Ended up being the crank sensor.

You would need to check the wires and harness that hook up to the sensor. The clip on mine popped out and the wire rubbed against timing belt causing them to short. Just a thought, I also thought it was the fuel pump on mine and changed it when indeed it was the crank sensor. I would go over all the sensor to make sure they are pluged in properly. What other mods did you do ?

Ok i replaced all these :
front brakes
rod bearings
driver caliper
engine rebuild. 89k
pcv and hose
radiator hose upper
heater core hose
thermostat
temp gauge sensor
coolant temp sensor
new ecu
new battery
new oil pump
new water pump
altenator belt
serpentine belt
oil and filter

It has header cai, eagle rods je pistons, bored over 8mm plug wires. e3 plugs

i replaced both cooland and temp gauge sensors, my in car temp gauge never let me know it was over heating. :/

I pulled the cam sensor wiped it off real good, blew whatever dirt there could be in it.
almost ALL of the sensors look new theres all clean.

Where would my crank sensor be?
I dont think i have a maf. it car isn't turbo. If i do where would it be? im still new to the whole locating sensors on different cars.

Just unplggued the cam sensor, both tb sensors wiped them off and tried starting it. it kicked over started for a split second and shut off. im not sure what to call it, fired while stick cranking over?

update! I changed the battery. its starting up now almost every time. but stalling out horribly. sounds like shit and half the stalls sound like a cylinder is pushing air out? if you know what i mean. Half the time when i rev it up or let the clutch out, it will stall. any ideas on this? someone said it could possibly be the fpr so im gonna try to find one

Sounds like maybe your plug wires are switched around or maybe bad coil. Check that first and I would probably do a compression test just to be safe. Go through some test first before you just start changing parts that can get pricey.

I did a compression test last week. read 185 180 180 185 before i changed the rod bearings. i just went and picked up a used fuel pump for 30 bucks that looks pretty decent. im gonna try that. i thought maybe a bad coil before but then found out it was just my battery not being tight enough. Im gonna try the fuel pump tomorrow. if it dont work i have no clue where to start.

Fuel pump was a no go. Im not sure what else to try. any way of telling which year the ECU belongs to? I went shopping around today look at ECU's in eclipses and everyone was different even for a 95 96 eclipse

:DRESOLVED! Pulled the Crankshaft Positioning Sensor, it reaked of gas. wiped it clean(sensor is brand new, not one scratch) and plugged it in. Car started right up, tried to stall after a few minutes but caught itself and didnt. Thanks guys.
