car runs rough and turns off

so i have a 95 gsx here is the problem the car is full stock no mods i will start the car and it turns on but runs really rough ill let i warm up and i turn it off myself. i wait a couple min. to turn it back on and it will start but it turns off on its own it seems as if it is not getting any gas but i check the fuel pump it seems to work fine i thought it was the fuel pump relay but got a couple at the junkyard and replaced but it doesnt seem to be the problem i also checked the ecu to see if there are any burnt chips but it doesnt seem like it. .......so if anyone can help i would really appreciate it

Start with the basics and go from there.

Check to see if the air filter is clogged.
Check the plugs to see what they look like.
Check all the sensors/plugs make sure something isn't unplugged.

Could be numerous things till you start narrowing it down.

is there a place where you can send me to see where i can locate all the sensor because there are alot of them and i dont want to miss one and have that be the problem i am pretty sure i checked all of them but i just want to make sure

He's right about this one. Especially the plugs. You should pull each one of the plugs while the car is off and relatively cool, and what you see on the tip will tell you exactly what the engine is or isn't getting (air/fuel/spark) or if there's another problem altogether. If you don't have a manual that tells you what the different "looks" mean, you can google "spark plug diagnosis" and the first link will explain stock engine problems in good detail, except for lean or rich conditions. From there, you can narrow your search for the problem.

Did your car have any mods before you got it? Believe it or not a non recirculated blow off valve on the stock maf will cause the exact thing sometimes. Possibly check the biss out and do a boost leak test for a start as I have seen these cause rough idling.

Sorry, forgot you said it was all stock no mods. Could still check that the blow off valve is recirc.

ok so here the deal i missed up on the spark plugs ### i didnt come on here first i got the platinum plus from auto zone which i hear are all bad for turbo cars so i had my friend check them out and he said it was hard to tell what the problem is because those sparkplugs preignite or something like that... the othere thing i dont know if this will have any affect on the problem my car is having but i know that the oil pressure sensor has been diconnected for a while because the wire got cut and i have been forgetting to get one from the junk but that seems to be the only sensor that is not working right as of now and i forgot to mention that the only real upgrade i got was the intake from ebay and thats it

I dont think the oil pressure sensor has to do anything with the idling... as far as spark plugs yes platinums arent that great

if the check engine light is on, take it to autozone and have them do a scan... The O2 sensor has a lot to do with your idling since thats what controls the fuel mixture in the cylinders

A good rule of advice is, if you plan to keep this car, get a logger.
Just search, theres plenty of information on it.
A logger can read CELs for you, give you temperatures, resistances of sensors going bad, pretty much anything that can go wrong.

Also, maybe your maf is going. If you were to unplug the maf you would get the same results, a barely running car.

i have the the decoder but the thing is i dont have the check engine lihght on will it still read something even if the check engine light is not on and is a logger the same thing as a logger how would i go about checking the maf

if your battery is constantly diying then thats an alternator problem.. my runs funny right now but my check engine light is on i already took it to autozone and the code read a bad O2 sensor. It still runs but sometimes it will stall and cut out if i hammer on it hard... im wasnt saying you had a bad O2 I was just throwing that as a possibility

you have a 95 so the sensor is gonna be on your cam... you defenetly want that sensor working. try changing it with a new one, that should sove your problem...
