So, today my 3rd brake light snaped off and is now hanging by it's wires. Has this ever happened to anyone? I've never seen medal snap like this did. Pics below.

My question is, where can I get a new one, or would it be cheaper to just weld the medal back together?

how in the hell did that happen? did you try and hang someone from it? If you can do it yourself or know someone that would do it for free, i'd say weld it back together. if not, im sure a new one wouldn't be too expensive. Or.... if you're feeling zesty, this would make a good custom fab project. Maybe put a small light bar up towards the top of the back window??

Nothing was ever hung on it, or hit it, or anything. How it broke is beyond me. I was just curious if this had ever happened to anyone. Is there a thread on how to install this thing? Haven't taken off the trunk liner, so I'm not sure how the wireing is run.

Its very simple to remove. Take off the trunk plastic and there will be a couple 10 mm bolts. As far as the harness it mounted next to the light. I mean once the cover is off its very self explanitory.

want to bring this back and know where i would be able to buy one of these or if they know the part number. thanks

LOL...yea man, this shit broke on me too(identical cut pattern too), i mean it just hangs there, every pothole and rough road vibrates the hell out of it, especially if it's a DD this should be common...I found one at the junk yard broken the same way, i doubt i'll find anything on stock new anywhere....all i did is just screw the broken pieces together with two metal plates, still vibrates though, still trying to figure out how to stop it...good luck finding it though...

I'm liking partylikeits82's idea of a custom job for a fix. I think a nice hidden LED light bar at the top or bottom of the rear window would look very nice when lit and unnoticable when not. Hell mine's not even broke and I might do it.
