I went to install my stock pillar and my dumb ass broke all the tabs those plastic inserts go into. You know wich ones I'm talking about, those 4 tabs that are on the stock pillar not the white plastic inserst things. I am trying to put my gauge pod back on but there is nothing to hold the pillar in. Anything I can do or do I need to go buy another stock pillar? Thanks

I'm assuming you are talking about the "c-channel" type thing molded into the pillar that the white things slide into? Unfortunately when those break the pillar is a real pain to deal with.

Are the white things still pushed into the body? you could try yanking them and gluing the head into the remainder of whats left of the tab, however getting them to then line back up with their respective holes could be tricky.

The other thing you could do is try and replace that heavy duty velcro with some new stuff. That doesnt always work out though. Especially with the added weight of the gauge hanging from the pillar.

Honestly i would just try and find a replacement pillar, it's just so much easier than trying to salvage the busted one. Just be extremely careful when removing the new one off of the donor vehicle or else you'll wind up at square 1 again.

Yup the c-channel part, there isn't much of them left. I'll try the glue thing if not I will go get another one from the salvage yard

I just screwed my pillar in. Cordless drill and all it took my like 5 minutes. yeah, a screw shows, but that doesn't bother me.

So it's just screwed into the steel/metal then?

I had only one clip on mine, the bottom c-clip. I just put a screw in near the top and it held on perfectly. BUT... the boost guage broke, so I'm replacing it and while it was out I just bought an a-pillar from a junkyard... total of $5 for it, and had no broken tabs. :thumb:
