Ok, I've searched here and the internet and I haven't really been able to find a how-to for brakeline replacement. I'm sure its an extremely simple process but I'm a total newb when it comes to being a mechanic and I'm trying to teach myself out of a combination of elbow grease, sweat, tears, some blood, a haynes manual, you awesome guys, and some sheer luck. This is about the closest i could find here, its for repairing the hardline

http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/showthread.php?t=95453 Will this suffice for my problem?

One day I totally lost brake pressure and my pedal went all the way to the floor. So I shut the car off and looked under the car... sure enough there was a large puddle of brake fluid forward of the rear/driver side wheel. I jacked the car up and looked for the leak while pressing the brake with a broom-handle. On my Laser(not sure about others) there are a set of brakelines running parallel to each other, going down the left side of the car. The leaking line is the middle one and seems to have rusted out, they all look rusty....the whole underside looks rusty really.

Do I have to replace the whole line? Or, can I cut it with a dremmel tool and just replace the leaking section? Should I just replace all the lines since they look rusty? How many feet of brake line will I need. What tools will make it simple. I know the lines come from the shop as a straight piece, so whats the best way to bend?

Any how-to advice or tips can help. I'm sure I can do this myself despite my newbness I just dont want to mess up something like brakes....they are kinda important. ;)

You could cut the rotted peice out and buy a short peice and use a flaring tool. but that is a pain i would buy a new line and a bender and replace the whole line.
