I adjusted my ignition timing from 15* to 5* ( not sure how it got to 15* but) when done took the car for a spin and instantly it started bogging, hard with very low throttle. I had to limp back to my house going @10mph. I could hear the turbo spoolin' loud as hell almost instantly as well. When I got home I noticed a little smoke coming out from under the hood for a brief second. It hasn't acted like this ever. I can't seem to figure out what the hell is going on. It's a new engine I've only been running for almost a month now. Please, someone help I have to get to work.

That's why you should set the base so they match. Use the logger to set actual timing to what the logger says if that's easier for you. I have to check my timing every couple months cause it seems that my CAS will somehow move slightly on it's own.

Well, when my timing is set to 5* is showing me -2* on the logger. The logger's base timing is set at 5*. When the ignition timing was set at 15* the car seemed to run alright without bogging. Now that I've set the timing where it needed to be it bogs like hell. The turbo is spooling the second your foot touches the gas. It's never done that. Should I time it again back to 15*. This makes no sense.

you don't look at the logger for base timing. the timing the logger shows is the timing advance that the ecu is running. if you ground the timing connector, the logger should show 5 degrees. then you time the ignition with a light to 5 degrees. once the connector is not grounded the timing should bounce around on the pulley and the logger.

Finally advanced the timing back to 12-15* and cleared up the bogging and stuttering. I'm lost. Would anyone have any idea why I would have to run more timing in order to be able to drive the car.
