blowoff valve

Going through the box of parts I took off this project I'm working on. I removed this blow off valve without ever trying it. I think its a knock off greedy that was recirculated but my question is how far is the valve supposed to open. When I push on it, it only opens a 1/8 inch or so, seems like it should open more. Is this where the adjustment comes in to play.

yes the nut adjusts how much pressure it vents at

Ya probably should just replace it, why skimp here I guess. This builds over budget and i haven't even started on the rear end yet.

The adjuster is to adjust the tension on the spring , its not to adjust how far it opens. That's definitely a knock off.
