I have a shake problem when I realease the clutch after starting.

I start the vehicle up it runs fine then I let the clutch out it shakes and drops the rpms fast. Press the clutch back in and Idle goes back to cold mode and runs smooth.

The first time I noticed it I thought I had a misfire that bad thats kinda what it seems like.

Could this be a flywheel or Clutch problem?

Is the clutch engaging/disengaging properly?
Are you grinding any gears?

Everything seems normal. I Have TRE stage 3 tranny. The only problem is that the linkage thats mounted to the top of the tranny that has two bolts holding it ones is missing (damn solid motormounts) So I have to get that.

BTW if anyone wants to trade the two upper mounts that are on the sides of the motor for my polymounts I will take stockers. I cant take the poly mounts anymore.

What does a throw out bearing do when it goes bad Im not sure.

I had this same thing happen to me. It originally happened in just reverse but then spread to all gears... I took the whole transmission out and checked everything but what I found was the nuts that hold the 5th driven and drive gears on were loose. What you need to do is take the passenger front wheel off and look at the side of the transmission that is closest to the passenger side of the vehicle. There is a small cover you can take off with about 8 12mm bolts holding it on. Take that off and observe the two nuts. They are called staking nuts or just lock nuts because they have to be hit with a chisel on one side of them into an indention in the shaft to lock them in place. They are supposed to be torqued to 109 ft. lbs. of torque. If you need any more information then don't hesitate to ask, I hopefully will have the answer LOL. And if you find that they are loose then you would be best off to go to a Mitsubishi dealer and buy the two nuts new because if they become "un-staked" then the part that is supposed to be staked becomes weakened and will not hold up as well when you try to re-stake them. Good luck.

Well Im not saying your wrong but I only have about 1500 miles on this TRE tranny so I dont think its that.

Im started to think it was that awesome ACT clutch....

I'm not saying it couldn't be something else either, a throw out bearing will most of the time cause a noise if it is going out, something like a chatter or a squeaking right as you are depressing the clutch or releasing it, it shouldn't cause a momentary grabbing. The clutch adjustment could have something to do with it, check the adjustment on the pedal. Here is RRE's description on how to do it, it's really helpful. RRE's Clutch And Flywheel Tech Info . The problem that I listed previously is a fairly simple check so if nothing else keep it in mind. But if the clutch is misadjusted then it could be grabbing and releasing rapidly causing the bad motor shake. I would imagine its a fairly new clutch? As well as a new throwout bearing if you had the trans out only 1500 miles ago. Anyways, check that I guess and we will see where that leads. Once again, good luck.

well when I realease the the pedal its shakes the whole time that the pedal is realeased. Not making any real noises. I might just try that and check it out. Im assuming that I have to remove the axle too.

The only thing you will have to remove to get to the cover is the wheel and possibly the inner splash shield on the passenger side. After that you will see the cover right there, it is small, probably only 6x4 inches or something like that. Just remove that and you will see the two nuts I mentioned.:dsm:
