If your compression is good leave it alone. Your good for solid 400 with stock internals.

If you remove the engine and pull fenders off it will be a lot easier. Just remember to tag everything and go to town with some paint remover.

Maybe you should shoot for a solid 350whp car, 350 is enough to get you in trouble and comfortable on the hard parts. You go above that and then car starts dropping bolts. Fast and reliable dose not come cheap.

Take the console off service your bushings and possibly adjust the cable, those parts are nearing 20 years.

You might have to re do everytHing, maybe new rotors.

Are you using the correct hardware on the calipers?
