I was putting the transfer case back into my 91 TSI and I noticed the axle mount that attaches to the block was hanging off. When I tried tightening it the bolt almost seemed too short and it wouldn’t grab the thread in the hole. Is this a common complaint? Also does anyone know what size bolt...

Does it completely cut? I had the exact same issue, and found out it was because my injectors were too small for the tune I had loaded. I was requesting more fuel than the injectors could actually provide so it would just cut. Might not be your issue, but that was my experience.

Manual with stage 2 clutch. I haven't ever torn the trans down, but I've never had any issues with it since I bought it. Last time I checked the fluid it was clean and healthy.

Yes it was sealed, and they came with the data sheets. This is definitely a FIC issue, but I'm gonna have to fight with STM because they have my money. I mean if they work I'm fine to keep them, I'm just trying to get some of my money back.
