Im not familiar with early evo. You need to look if your car has motor mounts connected to the block or the trans. 2g is trans only and has no bosses for any mounts to the block.

Interesting.. maybe I should move this to the forums to figure out if it will work or not before jumping into a purchase. Might be the 1g I’m looking for

ASA shows the Evo II having 3 motor mounts on the transmission, like a 2G. This means you should be able to use either a 1G (I’d imagine with some modification similar to installing a 1G engine in a 2G) or 2G engine (likely bolt-in, with appropriate engine mounts).
