- I found this TSI after doing a search on Craigslist for my first project car. It happened to be in Erie PA, sitting behind a Mexican restaurant where the owner was keeping it and his current 455 hp panda Talon project. Finding the untouched diamond in the rough that it was, I drove it back home for 4 or so hours on its own power without issue. It has since been running around without major issues with nearly all stock components, hoses, and wires. Since everything seems to be great mechanically, hopefully, I can soon get the paint and driver's front fender taken care of (among other cosmetics) to make it look as good as I'm sure it did 30-some years ago.
I don't necessarily have any performance mods planned at all, since it seems to be one of very few left in as near-stock condition as it is. Plus, being in the mountains means it doesn't need much more than it has to make this thing a pocket rocket in the bends and corners where the local Mustangs and Ram trucks dare not chase. ;)
