In was driving my 2g eagle talon tsi awd (7bolt) at around 75mph on the thruway for almost 2 hours straight. I got off the thruway and went down to idle and could hear my timing belt "thapping" I could tell it was loose so I parked it and turned it off. I tested the belt it was loose but not terrible. Turned the car on and off again and checked it and it was loose enough to pull off the can gears. Didn't want to skip timing so I had it towed home. Checked my tensioner and saw the the rod that comes out of it doesn't line up with the arm. The arm is above it. I ordered a new arm and realized its the same as the old one and that's not the culprit. It blows my mind how this happened because its all cast iron and nothing could have bent. Please tell me why this is happening
