Well guys, todays not goin to well. I got woke up this morning by my readiness NCO telling be that I'm going to be Deployed in a 3 step process. 1. MOS change, 2. Train up in Georgia, 3. Deployment. all this will start next month. Also today. I got another phone call saying that My grandfather has passed away. He's been fighting cancer, but it finally got him today. So if I'm not around whorin things up, it's cuz I've got a million things goin on with the funeral and getting ready for deployment.

Much love for my fellow tuners.

Scott

thanx for the support guys. I'm kinda excited about goin back to school then being deployed.. and the way I see my Grandpa is he's just enjoying his brand new Ranger bass boat and matching Dodge Ram quad cab, in the middle of some lake fishing with a cigarette hangin off his lips and not a care in the world. Just him and the fish...

yah man.. life's a b!tch than ya marry one.. get back up and keep on keepin on <--- joe dirt line:thumb:
i lost grandfather and grandmother in the same 3 hours.. grandmother died grandfather took it a little to hard and had a heartattack.. poor guy.. can't dwell though man, cuz than life will kick u further off track.. found that out the hard way:(

Sounds like you're dealin with it all in the right way. Good luck with everything

Dude you know im gonna do nothing but wish u luck. If you need anything at all from me just call my cell (u got the number) and we can chit/chat if i aint at work. Talk to yah later and im sorry to hear that, but like you said think of it as hes somewhere thats alot better for him other than earth.

sorry to hear about ur grandfather.

just think of all the cash u'll be banking once ur deployed. u'll have a nice chunk o change for ur dsm when ur safely back home.

best of luck to u.:thumb:

really sorry about your gandpa bro
hope things get better

Sorry to hear about your grandpa.

Being in the military, I know all about the BS it can hand you. But if you want to look at it in an upside. That TDY to your new school is gonna give ya lots of DOUGH! The deployment will do the same. Can you say EVO 8:D What MOS are the moving you to. I'm a 74B, thats a Information System Analyst/Operator (in leimens terms, Army Computer Geek)

My condolences... but I'm willing to bet he's better off now than he was. Take care being deployed, keep us updated...

THanks to everyone for all the support. Grandpa T meant a lot to not only my family but a lot of people I will probably never meet. I just got screwed out of my flight physical cuz it's on the day of the funeral. Guess which one I'm going to. I'm a 31U (Signal Support Systems Specialist. if it has wires I can fix it) and I'm changing to 93C for now (Air Traffic Controller) I'll come home with an FAA rating. So I'll bust out a couple CLEP courses and have my degree in aviation and can become a Full time controller at an INTL airport, make some MORE dough and add that on to what I have left over from my deployment. I added up how long I'll be gone, and my pay rate, and I'll have about 35Grand when I get home, so yeah, EVO with a dedication to my grandpa on the dash....I don't care if it IS rice.

I know exactly how you feel man. I lost my cousin back in february, Jim Feuling. He was the owner of Feuling Motorsports. They're was sooo much i wanted to talk to him about. He meant alot to people i don't know. I mean Jay Leno was at his funeral.

damn scott that sucks about your grandpa , but if i was you i wouldnt give a shit about the deployment , dude ITS FINALLY HAPPENED , i cant wait to get deployed , but then again warrior is in my bloodstream , think it came from my 100% D.A.V dad , 68-69 in the NAM with the 7th cav.......

"a real soldier":thumb:

i am gonna try and make 82nd Airbourne , and if not them , the 101st sounds good to me! LOL stay with them and then hopefully will be in enough shape to make Ranger school and then off to Fort Benning for my "hell weeks" ......... even though i will already be there for airbourne training.... but the ranger school is gonna be at least 2 years after making airbourne

What's your new MOS gonna be? That does suck tho. In a 2 years after I get trained for my MOS I gotta change it the summer after that anyways so it really sucks but oh well.
Dude I'm having a bad week also. My TSi caught fire the other night, dipstick popped out and the manifold was hot so yeah......... not good.

thanx bro. I'm not stressin the deployment so much, it's all the bullshit leadin up to it...like being poked and prodded in every orifice, and gone over with a fine tooth comb. I'd rather be a 19D than a 93C though.

Once again , thank you all for the support. I'm not sure if the shock hasn't totally set in or what, but it's hard to be steady as a rock for my family.

Dude Scott, that sucks. My deepest condolences.
Are you gonna find a way to still get on the forums? I can't imagine this place without you. One of the few good members left.
Anyways, I can't think of anything to say really. Not good at these things. But I hope all goes well. And dude, think of this. One day you'll meet back up with your grandfather.

much love,
Alan.

I'll definitely find a way to get back on if I can take a laptop with me.

You should be able too, thats what I will be doing in Iraq. Set up mobile networks, which means internet, but you must provide you own terminal (computer/laptop). If they try to block sites theres always ways around it. go to DOS prompt, then ping what ever site by its web address, that should bring up the IP address, then put the address in the address bar of your internet broswer. And BING you're there.

Go to: Start (on the task bar at the bottom)
Go to: Programs
Go to:Accessories
Go to: Command Prompt
You will see: C:\>
Type: ping www.dsmtuners.com
You will see:
