2G Evo 3 16g turbo doesn't have wastegate flap

Hello I'm having a problem with a turbo I just bought. It's an evo 3 16g. First thing I noticed that wasn't made clear in the photos is that the compressor housing has been rotated so the wouldnt need to use a j-pipe. I already have a punishment racing FMIC waiting to be installed and it has all the piping needed to install the 16g. I also have a new install kit. One problem im having is since the compressor housing is rotated I can't install the wastegate. Can I just turn the compressor housing back around? Also the turbine housing does not have the wastegate flap on it, it only had a bolt where the flap should have been. Is this normal? Is there a way to install one? Or can I just use the turbine housing off my t-25? I assume I cant and if I need to order a new turbine housing I will but I was hoping there was a cheaper way to fix this problem. You can reclock the comp cover if you want to the stock location. Also looks like someone was planning to run a external waste gate and they where going to weld that shut. You need to source a new flapper and arm and put it back on. Or continue blocking it off and run external. Can you give us a shot of the side? So we can see what the flapper hole looks like? Like if it's blocked of or not. How's the shaft play?

Awesome then I will rotate it. I wanted to just run the stock wastegate I have a t4 and 3 t-25s sitting around can I use a t-25 flap? There's a little shaft play I was planning on rebuilding it in about a month just wanted to get it all into the car.

It's set up for an external wastegate mounted on the O2 housing.

So it it possible to turn back into internal wastegate or should I just get an external wastegate?

Yes you would need the correct wastegate flapper and little arm. I'm not sure a t25 would work it's made by garrett and is much diff. Your better off sourcing from a turbo rebuilder or vendor on here. Or look in the classifieds never know. Go to g-Popshop.com for a quality rebuild kit.

To set it up to run an internal wastegate, you would only need the arm and flapper, but I don't know of any place that sells them separately. You could try using one off of a 14b, or just use the 6cm housing. You could probably find one used for less than $50. Another option would be to get a 7cm housing used (around the same price, maybe a little more than a 6cm housing) or a new one off of ebay ( http://www.ebay.com/itm/Turbo-Lab-o...241?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item1c48c50af9). To run it as is, you would need an O2 housing and an external wastegate. I guess it just depends on what your budget is.

awesome thank you guys i got the turbo was was confused but this helped a lot. I ended up getting a new 16g turbine housing ported with the flap in it so I don't need to mess around with it and then get it ported later. Now to just learn how to use dsmlink and I should be set haha

I have been following this thread since I have the same problem. I have a donor 14b, but I can't figure out how to remove/reinstall the linkage and flapper in once piece on the new 7cm2 housing.

A few of you cite that it is possible, but I'd like more specifics. Searches have not been super clear either.

Thanks, the removal process in one piece seems possible, however I am having trouble understanding the process of getting back in, in one piece. I posted directly within that thread at this point.

Well from the removal process it would seem that you would have 2 pieces. Then you weld or hammer them togther, once assembled in turbine. I know it's possible. I've read of guys going to a bigger flapper. Cool hope you figure it out bro!
