I'll share some pictures of some cool stuff I found while unloading the interior of the new car and one outside.

It still has the factory air damn for the radiator. SUPER win in my eyes.

A Tonneau cover! It's in decent shape and a lighter gray than the interior that will be going in but I'm gonna keep it.

A dash cover, thought about keeping it but unsure yet.

The factory amp!

Not pictured because I forgot are both driver and passenger side foot well covers for the center console.

Gave the car a bath and cleaned vacuumed out the interior tonight

Alright Brochachos so here is the game plan as of right now.
Everything that is coming over is:
Rear and front subframes and everything connected
Obviously engine and trans
Driveline
Fuel tank (because i dont feel like digging that pump out of the tank)
Pretty much the entire interior (Dash, seats, Interior trim, carpet, etc)
Fuel lines
Coilovers
Braided Brake lines from off the body to brake
Wheels
Pedal Assembly
Clutch Master
power steering pump and lines
intercooler and piping
MY 93 wiring harness - just too much work to try and re-do everything thats been done to that harness.
Radiator

Im sure im missing small things but this is the gist of it.

Im going to be starting with pulling the fuel tank, and then the subframes, and then the interior last. I need to get one of these turds out of the garage because im taking up my Fiance's side of the Garage since our driveway is slightly sloped and sitting one of them up on stands in the driveway would be fairly sketchy

Took today and tomorrow off work to get some serious progress done on the swap.

Last night got both rear subframes dropped in the ground. I only had 1 1/2 hours last night so didn't get any further than that.
PXL_20240508_021047231.jpgPXL_20240508_024942221.jpgPXL_20240508_024943879.jpgPXL_20240508_025200587.jpg

Todays progress:
-Both front and back subframes with everything attached swapped from one car to the other.
-Fuel lines SWAPPED. I decided to keep the OEM lines and holders from the red car and reinstalled them on the blue car so that whoever gets it next has factory fuel lines.
-Driveline mounted back up on the chassis
-Fixed up the passenger side headlight. Some of the mounting bolts and shroud around the top and side of the headlight were missing so I pulled it off a spare head light that came with the car.

I noticed the car still has the factory oil cooler also, which is cool but I won't use it because I don't know the history of it. Maybe its been through a spun bearing or engine failure. Better safe than sorry.

I also noticed the heater core pipes were bent to shit.i wiggled a socket in there to straighten them back out and then put a small worm clamp and snugged it down to get it back into a more round shape. So hopefully they don't leak.

PXL_20240509_221249511.jpg

Tomorrows agenda is hopefully get the engine and trans swapped over, get the engine wiring harnesses swapped and mounted back in the car at least, swap the power steering res and remove the "cooler" line for it, and fuel tank mounted back up.

Some harder stuff is still ahead like swapping the pedal assembly, and the dash. And from there it's basically just a little bit of wiring and interior.

with your clutch issue, make sure the flywheel step height was machined correctly. the wear disc is installed correctly, and lastly that the TOB is moving completely freely and full range of motion. also make sure your clutch line is good too. probably have been talked about but i just wanted to put my .02 in. ive ran nothing but southbends and have had zero issues.

All of those except the step heigh have been checked and verified. I'll definitely keep the step height in mind

Got the wiring harnesses swapped, fuel tank in, shifter and cables installed into the red car.

PXL_20240509_225411634.jpg

Unfortunately the cables that came out out of the red car were trashed and both bent so they went in the trash.
PXL_20240511_150831268.jpg

I did notice that one of the connectors on the harnesses are different between the 2 years. After doing some research I'll just have to depin and repin them to each other's harness.
PXL_20240511_012723812.jpgPXL_20240511_010729004(1).jpg

Got the engine and transmission swapped over as well which is a big milestone.

I remember getting my first 1ga on college it was an eclipse I loved that thing.
Yup! I had a 1gB 5 speed naturally aspirated Talon back in high school….dreamed it was a TSi AWD back then and dreamed about the 2g GSX when it came out. Hence, my current mid-life crisis to finally get a 2g GSX LOL.

Keep the DSM dreams alive fellas!

Jesus, you're serious about this. Lol. Great progress so far!

Enjoy the wiring thing, I'm in the same/current boat with mine. It's a bastard-ized hybrid of 90 and 91-94 harnesses interior/engine.

Also: are you letting the clear cover be self-clearanced by the cam gear bolts? Is it an eBay/knock-off unit? It looks great. I'm infinitely envious of your transmission.

Sure am! I really wanted to get it done by this Saturday for a cars n coffee but I'm not sure that's gonna happen. I'll try though!

The clear cover is an eBay cover, they seem to fit well enough with a little modifications.
I bolt them up completely and then circle where the cam gear bolts are and then used a step bit to drill it out. Nice thing is, they're like $12 so if you mess one up its not a big deal. https://www.ebay.com/itm/1650705973...MxIdLP-TDC&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY

I see, I see. Might have the snag one and do a little clearancing myself!

Am I the only one who has to work everyday? Lol
Nice friggin progress!
I work 7-3:30 everyday 🤷 LOL I give up a lot of my time for other stuff to be able to work on these turds.

Little bit of progress again last night.
- Swapped out the Brake Booster and Brake Master between cars
- Removed Pedal assembly out of red car - This is SOO much easier with the brake booster removed.
- Got the Fuel Pressure regulator and filter mounted
- Shifter Cables mounted to transmission
- Front Crossmember/Engine mount installed
- Turbine Housing on turbo swapped
- Turbo lines connected and Turbo mounted
- Downpipe connected
- Alternator main wire routed and connected
- Clutch Line connected, slave moved over.

Next up hopefully is going to move over my clutch pedal assembly, swap out the Power steering pump and high pressure line and then time to tackle the dash.
I still need to remove the crash bar and swap over the bumper support, and cut out the radiator support for intercooler piping routing.

We're inching closer!

I did a quick check and didn't find anything, has anyone tapped the inside of their valve covers so that the baffle could be screwed in with some small button head allen screws or something similar? So that the baffles could be easily removed for cleaning or powdercoating, etc?

ive got aluminum ravenfab baffles right now and i wanted to have my valve cover powdercoated and change out the AN fittings and my baffles are welded in.

I don't see why it couldn't be done, but I'd be terrified of one of those little bolts vibrating itself loose and dropping into the head or worse. Maybe dab each with red loctite?

That was the plan. i have a spare valve cover I can use to test with. Id just be worried about drilling and tapping too deep and going through the valve cover.

If you weren't in South ass Dakota, I'd grab the 1GB shell off of you as a backup car. I don't mind the 1GB Talons.

If you wanna take a vacation to Florida in a bouncy truck and trailer setup though, hit a brotha up!
