  1. Using a MAFT to run speed density. Possible?

The MAFT can't run in speed density mode, but you can run a speed density chip, and plug the GM 3-bar directly to the ECU. You would need an ostrich rom emulator to tune it.
  2. Gas mileage: Open vs Closed loop

This is definitely true, because you run rich in open loop, and leaner in closed loop. Keydiver's chips have extended closed loop to improve mileage.
  3. Hack the system! Hack the world!

You can download the ROM at http://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/dsm-ecu/files/Projects/Speed%20density/You probably will need an Ostrich ROM emulator as well, since the chip is tuned for my car, and yours is probably set up differently.
  4. Hack the system! Hack the world!

That's my site, and all the code is open-source on dsm-ecu. The code is 1g only, since I don't have a 2g, but if you knew how to read assembly and had a some time to kill you could probably make it work on a 2g. The DSMLink guys could do it no problem. The car is my daily driver and rallyx...
  5. General Burning EEPROM chips

You can use a rom emulator and edit all the maps from a laptop plugged into the car. No need to burn a new chip every time.
  6. Is this opinion true about DSMLINK?

It doesn't seem to get mentioned much, so I thought I'd chime in: For a 1g, I think the support for rom emulators is good enough now that it's a viable option. You can get an Ostrich rom emulator (which plugs in the same place as DSMLink) for $175, and use free map editing software from...
