I would like to consider my 67mm on a 2.0L hits pretty hard, but it's a T4 setup with a nice manifold.
From my dyno graph at 31-32psi, I go from 220ishTQ@4200 to 460TQ@4900 (roughly) Also 180HP at 4200, 450@ 4900rpms (roughly).
The FP88HTA should be a badass turbo, but without a doubt put it in a T4 housing.

That must be a stroker cause no way a 67mm turbo in t4 housing spooled that good.
Edit: I just looked at your profile you have 9:1 block I take it that is the reason. Kinda makes me happy to see higher compression has that much of an affect on spool. A lot of people used to argue that the 8:5:1 2g pistons on 1g rods didn't do anything but obviously it does.

Rob's case is atypical. His setup just spools really well. It will not apply to many 67 setups on 2 liters esp. those with sizable housings. Not .63a/r junk. It could be the divided housing he's using too. C.R. doesn't really affect spool much. My car gets full spool at the EXACT RPM with the stock 7.8:1 C.R. and the 9:1 it has now on the same setup. That's more than one point increase with no change in spool. Displacement helps a ton though.

Hmm well I figured he was more the exception than the rule but still that's pretty good spool characteristics no matter how you cut it. I'm going t3 .70ar with my setup trying to keep it street friendly with good top end.

What kinda power increase did you see at the same given boost when you switched?

Can't say. I only dyno'd the car after. I'm not a big fan of high compression pistons actually. Just got a good deal on these slugs and said "..why not?"

I'm in the same boat. I half regret it actually. But I wouldn't have got even close to as crazy as I have had I not found the deal I did and my deal was for a assembled shortblock so I REALLY couldn't say no. But just from yoru butt dyno do you think the transient response with a big turbo and extra power is noticable or just a waste?

I think 460 @ 24lbs is pretty good!
I'm very interested to see how the turbo responds at higher boost. I'm getting a GT4088R soon and It'll be cool to see how these compare.
Make sure to keep us updated!

Galant VR4(12.4@115) vs Tacoma
Galant VR4(12.6@115) vs Mustang GT
A few videos of my track runs. The car is still running awesome. The car was only running about 20-22psi, manual boost controllers suck.
California Speed Way (6/14/08)
RT ... 0.166
60' ... 1.883
330 ... 5.326
1/8 ... 8.077
MPH ... 86.68
1000 ... 10.451
1/4 ... 12.420
MPH ... 115.36
And yes I still need to learn how to drive . It is getting there, everytime to the track the car gets faster.

They are very inconsistent. So, the boost bounces from 19.5psi-22.3psi and back an fourth. I have an eletronic one I just have to fix the wiring on it and tune it. I have an 18psi WG Spring in right now, but once it goes above that, the MBC just does not want to keep the boost at 24.5psi. I will get it sorted out, I have bigger things that need adjustment. Like my launch 1.8 60's are ok, but I would like to see the 1.5-1.6 60's. I also need shift faster between gears and setup the NLTS. I should be able to get the traps, and overall et much better.

gotcha i'm kinda skeptical to run my turbosmart dual stage MBC now... but i've heard at high boost levels 28+ or so that MBC is the way to go.

Sounds like its coming along nicely, I wouldn't worry about some of the comments. There's always somebody, who knows somebody who made more power on less boost with a smaller turbo, with one cylinder not running, etc, etc Add some timing in that tune & I'm sure things will really start to wake up
