Hey everyone, Now I know this has probably been answered a hundred times but I am looking for a little more specific of an answer towards my setup.

Now I am fully building my engine with all the good stuff, and slapping on a 3052 (Or so I hope). Now I was looking and plan on using a Tial 44mm wastegate. My question is about the wastegate spring. On a site I saw it listed as .5 or .9 bar. Well isnt .5 bar like 8psi, and .9 about 13psi?

I plan on making this car a street/strip car and plan on turning up the fun knob a few times at the track. Honestly I just want to run say.. 10psi on the street, but come track time I dont want 20+psi to be out of the question...

So could someone explain to me what I need wastegate wise to make this possible?

Thanks in advance,

Garret.

Well if you are fully building your engine why would you only want 10psi for the street. They say most the time whatever your spring is you can double it. So if you get the 1 bar spring (14.7) then you should be able to get close to 30psi.

To me a near 500hp car is a bit much for the street.

Actually it will help keep me out of trouble:shhh:

But thanks for the help man!

The nice thing about our cars is that we can set the boost at 22psi and still drive it on the street, rarely hitting boost, and get 25+ mpg. It makes me wonder why anyone would bother setting their car up for two completely different boost levels then spend tons of seat time tuning for both settings. Pointless....especially if you come across a Mustang that you want to tear up- would you rather be on 10psi or 20psi?

Just find your desired boost level, tune your car, and leave it there.

Fair enough. Really the other big set back is that the highest octane gas I have available to me is 91... So I am pretty limited there. When I go to the track I will be running much higher octane fuels so I will need a new map regardless.
