My turbo has a fair amount of side to side, and the exhaust seal is leaking. Comp wheel just started making comtact with housing. The car just started running like ass. It doesn't boost right....it seems to spool, kick in, cut out, then boost again. Thats not my main concern....cause it is still under warranty.

It Idles like crap and almost wants to dies. I have my base idle set at 1200 cause of my webcams, but recently, it wants to idle at 500, and i haven't touched anything.

No boost or vac leaks.

Would the turbo being almost shot cause the idle issue? I just want to get it sorted out b4 the new one goes on.

b4 you get flamed at, don't do that anymore.

Anyway, a crappy turbo shouldn't (in most cases) cause a crappy idle. I would look elsewhere. Did you just install those cams? They may need to be degreed. Did you make sure your timing marks are all lined up? Are you 100% of no leaks? How is your spark? Compression? etc.

Start with the basics and don't assume it's just one thing (best advice I can give you).

Dont do what? I just noticed there was shaft play yesterday, if that is what you are refering to. And while checking it, i noticed a small area where the blade has rubbed the housing a little.

Cams have been in since the rebuild...3k miles ago. I set the idle at 1200 because it loping a bit. Has been running fine until yesterday.

Timing marks are all lined up.

I am 100% sure there are no leaks....i am running speed density setup, so it wouldn't matter at idle anyway

Plugs have a little bit of build up from running rich. Parts stores are closed today, but a new set will be going in tomorrow.

Compression test was done this morning, and it is 165 across all 4

I am pretty sure it is just the ISC. I unplugged it this morning. Started the car and it idles right at 1200 most of the time....sometimes drops to 1000 while idling

I was just talking about using "b4" instead of "before". Anyway, if you narrowed your problem down, the easiest way to verify ISC is by unbolting it. Keep the connector plugged in and have a friend turn the key from ACC to ON (cycle it). Everytime the ECU turns on your ISC plunger should move easily in and out. If not, your iSC is shot.

So, just to avoid further questions, when you turn the key to the position right before start, the isc should "test" both of it's limits... ie. go in as far as it goes, and go out as far as it goes, and then reset somewhere in the middle until the actual operation of it is needed.
