Ok last week my turbo crapped out on me after getting some welding work done on my header. I knew immediatly that something had flew through the exhaust side because of the way it sounded when trying to boost.
So my question is this. The turbo is a Big 16g and had/has zero play but the exhaust side is all chewed up and the shaft is slightly bent but the Compressor wheel is fine. I have a good 14b shaft and it seems to be exactly the same. If i use the 14b wheel and nut and put it back together using the 16g Center section and the nut for the 14b compressor wheel (with the 16g wheel) will this work? There is a local shop that can balance it for me but i just need to know if i can leave everything the same (its all in good shape except for the exhaust wheel/shaft) and use a 14b exhaust wheel with a 16g center section and compressor wheel. It all seems to go together fine and spin real nice just dont want to ruin a perfectly good center section.
