My turbo went out yesterday. Not surprising since it was the stock T-25 and it had 115k miles. Well I just ordered a 16G with install kit for a 2nd gen.

Here's a link to what I bought.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/DSM-...33742QQitemZ8072966755QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWDVW

Now, I just need a list of all the parts that are a necessity.
I have an intake, catback exhaust, MBC, and a boost gauge. Basically that's all that's on the car. Now I'm not looking for high horsepower right now, just driveability without problems. If it's possible to drive with the stock BOV, and intercooler, on low boost that's fine. What I need is a list of other parts I have to have.

I'm assuming I need a J-Pipe,
injectors?
fuel pump?
bov?
safc?

Any help you could give me would be greatly appreciated, also links to install articles, and info on your install will help me. I've never installed a turbo before, so this is brand new to me.

Thanks in advance.

good luck with that, it definitely looks like a imitation 16g. Dont bother getting injectors, pump , and computer just yet, you are better off to save some cash in case that turbo fails. Most of the ebay turbochargers that arent genuine have proven to be pretty questionable. Next time goto turbochargers.com or one of the other vendors that sells 16g turbos for around 500 bucks it is well worth the extra hundred dollars

agreed. "stock 440 injectors" ?? doesn't sound like a very reputable vendor to me:rolleyes:

I know I may not have bought a reputable turbo but thats not what I'm asking. I'm asking for a list of parts, So if you guys could help me there I'd really appreciate it.

Aside from what the vendor is providing, yes you need a J-pipe and some way to connect to the stock intercooler location. RRE (www.roadraceengineering.com) has a tweaker kit that includes the J-pipe, and a 90* and needed hoses to connect to the stock intercooler. Injectors, fuel pump and AFC are all optional, meaning if you keep the boost around stock level (~ 12 psi) then you should be fine. Goodluck.

Thank you.

Now this turbo will flow more air at the same psi level of my current turbo right?
I'm not saying your wrong, but are you absoulutly sure I don't need the upgrades to my fuel system?

If you plan to keep the boost at low stock level, 10 psi. Then fuel upgrades are not needed. But if you plan on raising boost, which more than likely you are then yes you will need to upgrade your fuel system.

Stay boostin

Okay.
So can you list the parts I'd need?

I'm thinking a walbro 190, and some 660's maybe? Would I need the fuel pump rewire kit?
Also I'd need to change my UICP and BOV if I'm planning on going more than 10psi correct?
and is an SAFC neccesary?

You will need an SAFC or equivilent to control the larger injectors. I would recommend the rewire.(might as well while you are down there.) You will probably be fine with the 1g BOV(so long as its crushed) and the dejon UICP that are in your profile.

I gave you a list of minimal mods you need to run with that turbo. If you have the money right now and feel like upgrading the fuel system then that's even better.

If you're using the b16g as a replacement, leave it at stock boost (10-11psi). If you're considering this as an upgrade and possibly getting some horse power out of it, you'll need to upgrade a bunch of stuff. I honestly don't want to list this stuff for you because this is ALL over the forums and I really shouldn't spoil you but here's a small list of stuff you need (besides the install kit).

(all of these items vary depending on your goals)
- New Fuel Pump (walbro 190/255)
- AFPR (aeromotive is the choice right now)
- New Injectors (550cc, 650cc, 750cc..)

- Something to tune with (Pocketlogger/SAFC2, or DSMLink)

Those are the essentials. There's a lot of stuff you need to read about and a lot of small stuff you'll need to upgrade. The stock BOV will leak. You have a GST therefor your traction will suffer a huge loss when you get into higher HP. You'll want to get an intake, and exhaust to unrestrict that airflow as much as you can. EGT gauges and Widebands are essential for serious tuning... oh yeah and get a boost guage.

There's alot of stuff you need to read about and it's all here on the forums. This post should be the end of this thread and more of a "shoving off" into the sea of information I call www.dsmtuners.com, enjoy and have fun.

GL on that turbo btw, maybe you can write a review about it in the future and lay to rest the rumors about ebay turbos.

To save myself from having to answer more of your threads later, here's a few links to help you out ahead of time.
