It seems to be a pain in the ass for me to take off and on the turbo feed and return lines along with the coolant line that feeds into the turbo. I was wondering how much pressure those have. I'm assuming it isn't to much. I work at NAPA and was just going to take some brass fitting and use some steel inforced rubber hose for the line. Anybody in here tried this. I was going to heat wrap them of course so I don't boil the coolant and oil running through them. Only problem is I wanna do the return line too but I don't know it if it threaded or not on the turbo side of a big16g. Just let me know if anyone has done this before, that would be great. Pictures would be even better!

Yes, you can use homemade lines. There is no pressure in the oil drain line. The only acting force is gravity. That line should be at least 1/2" or 10AN.

The feed line will see anywhere from 15 psi to 80 psi in some cases. I am unsure of the water pressure in the water lines, but you can just used regular rubber reinforced fuel hose for those. The pressure is not very high in them.

I made all of my own oil feed and drain lines. I'm not a fan of brass AN fittings - I use aluminum or steel. The thread on the b16g (for the oil feed) is 12mm with a 1.25mm pitch. Use a 4AN line for the feed line.

Ridiculous. Have the proper lines! It's not worth making your own. You would go through the trouble of fabricating your own lines, but won't go through with using the proper lines. Go with steel braided or stock lines. Hell I'll even provide with some. Keep that DSM running good and use the right stuff. Would you use RTV Hi Temp Gasket Maker instead of a Copper Headgasket? ROFL Hell no. Do it RIGHT.

Point is. do it right

proper?

you can make the "proper" feed and drain lines from the local hardware store. they sell steel braided hose and fittings at napa i do believe. where do you think the vendors get their stuff from, you think they call up the "Proper Oil Line Co." and order proper oil lines?

Exactly. :thumb:

TurboChrged93 - What do you consider proper? The thread starter it talking about using the same materials and the the same process as the vendors use to make the proper lines. He's doing it himself to save money because he doesnt want to pay the proper price. :dsm:

He must be one of those DSMers who still has money to put into his car.
