A rebuild's cost depends on the condition of your turbo so can range widely in price.

I'm sure dormroomrebuilds.com may quote you a lower price but you will endup with an ass job that has no guarantee.

Turbochargers.com also does rebuilds, but thier reputation has been questionable in the past.

Aside from FP and maybe AGP, honestly, I can't think of too many places I'd trust to rebuild and stand behind a turbo that I couldn't rebuild myself. Most places probably farm out rebuilds to other places anyway. Buying a turbo from someplace is easier than getting one rebuilt from someplace. I've had first-hand experience with Forced Performance being straight-up and not trying to nickel-and-dime me on an inspection and rebuild, so they'd be my first choice. You can tell they are straight-shooters. I could name a few well-known vendors that don't know what they sell or straight-out bs customers and won't stand behind anything they sell, but to not get this post deleted, I'll refer you back to my first sentence.

If you're replacing parts and just need a balancing, look in the phone book and maybe find a local turbo shop that can do 50-trims. Not every shop will have the tools to balance every make of turbo, or they will only balance them per piece and not as a unit. But, if you're replacing parts and only need a balancing, again, may as well just send it to FP and pay the shipping cost and then know it's done correctly.

I have a local diesel place that rebuilds them, but, I dunno, there's something not right about having a place rebuild a turbo that is surprised when you tell them you run 20+psi every day. Reminds me of having a muffler shop make me a 3" exhaust while telling me it won't do anything because it's for a 4-cylinder. The exhaust still works fine, but it doesn't spin at 100,000 rpm, either.
