sry if this is in the wrong area but iv heard several people talking about unplugging the isc to help wit stuck high idle. my idles anywhere from 700 to 2500 and if i have high idle and unplug the isc it just stays high.. no change whatsoever. is this normal should the idle drop.. i mean if its stuck then unplugging it wouldn't make it unstuck.. i plane on buying a new isc soon but need to bandaid this issue because its very annoying. can i just remove the isc and block it off without removing the coolant lines too? what do you guys think i should do?? oh and i do get an isc code so i know its toast. thanks for the input

For a street car it's best to keep the ISC, even if you ditch the FIAV, IMO. I would just replace the ISC. To be sure it's not working, pull the ISC, and reset the ECU. When you first key on, you should see the ISC extend fully while it tries to home. It could also be wiring or other issues, but we all know those ISC motors are more fragile than a box of glass dildos at the age these cars are getting to now.

The only thing worth doing for a temporary fix is to unplug the ISC when the idle is low/normal to keep it from going to 2500 on you.

see that's the issue though the idle dos not lower when i unplug the isc.. it stay high!!!!!! y is my question y does it stay high should it? is there something else wrong????? someones gota know come on guys give me a little here

How are you a "proven" member when you are completely ignoring sound advice and unable to search?

Have you ever been to VFAQ Site - Visual Frequently Answered Questions to see the procedure for setting idle?

Have you followed it?

Did you even read Kevin's responses?

Warning given for grammar since we don't have one for ignorance.

hate to bring this up again but i replaced the isc and i no longer get the trouble code for it. but my idle still changes all the time... sometimes its a little high sometimes its really high.. sometimes its perfectly fine.. i heard about issues with a bad isc shorting out the ecu but would this cause the idle to some time be fine and sometimes be horrible. sounds more like wiring to me but i ran the car and when i got the high idle i pulled over and started wiggling everything with no effect to the idle. anyone have any ideas??

iv heard alota pros and con about removing this for street use. before i go and take it out id like to verify that that is the issue. dose anyone know how to test the iac electrical system. aka the wires and ecu???? i believe i saw something in the shop manual but i don't have it in front of me rite now. :boring: bought to go to sleep
